Box springs for a new era

These box springs are designed to be easy to ship, fast to setup, and sturdy. Each of the twin sides (two twins = one king) weighs about 35 lbs, and they are shipped in a single box that one strong person can carry, but it's significantly better with two.Once out of the box setup is as easy as opening it up. The metal frame interior opens up as each side is raised and the whole thing locks in the open position, then you just zip up the fabric cover and that's it. One side is labeled Top, the other Bottom, so you can easily set them up properly.Taking them down is easy as well, you just have to be cautious that the fabric over the hinged area is pulled off to the side so it doesn't get stretched in the collapsed position. Stacked on top of each other when folded, they can fit under most beds easily, occupying about 1/4 of the space beneath your king sized bed.The frame is made of some square tubing, and thick gauged rods welded together in a grid about 5" wide and 9" long. Most mattresses should fit well on this, including memory foam and latex. If you're concerned about the space in between the supports, you can put some firmer material on top like cardboard (ghetto but fast & easy), or a compressed particle board (complex to have cut but solid).

sometimes I feel the metal frame through the mattress, but this might be more of an issue with my mattress.
