My wife and I both have back problems and have considered an adjustable bed for years. It wasn't until a recent injury to my back that we finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase one of these. After doing a fair amount of research and reading quite a few reviews from different sites, we decided upon the Leggett and Platt model based upon their reputation among other things. This may not be the least expensive adjustable bed, but in our opinion, we felt it would be the most reliable.We ordered the Split King model and had it delivered to the door. In hind site this may have been a mistake because, had someone delivered it, we wouldn't have had to deal with the weight of the bed. I knew before ordering that it was going to weigh 300 lb., but really didn't comprehend just how heavy that really was until we tried to move this into the 2nd floor bedroom of our house to set this up on our own. My one recommendation is that if you don't have two or three strapping young lads to help maneuver this bed, then you'd better get it delivered and set up by someone else, it would be worth paying the extra for the white glove service if offered. The weight of a Twin XL bed of this quality is still 150 lb. and the Split King model of course has two of these that you position side by side.That being said, what an excellent product. You can tell just by looking at it once you open the box that this is well built, but it's not until you get it set up and start using it that you really discover that everything that is said about it positively online is justified without a doubt. Part of the reason for the weight of this unit is the steel that is used to build a very sturdy product. All electrical connections are made for you already. It's just a matter of moving the power units outside the box, screwing on whatever sized legs you want to use (it ships with 2", 4", and 7" legs), pushing the locking casters into the end of the legs and then turning the unit over to move it into place. No tools are required whatsoever.The instruction manual is well written, quick setup sheets are well laid out with pictures for referral. By default all settings are pre-programmed for you and unless you want to program the unit to operate with one control for each side, then you have nothing else to do but plug it in, add your mattress, make your bed and you're ready for an experience in comfort.Extremely quiet and smooth operation, remote is responsive to the touch. You really don't even know you're elevating the head or foot of the bed until you feel it moving yourself. We are still getting used to some of the features, but from what we've experienced so far, we are both very, very impressed. We purchased two new Twin XL memory foam mattresses for the bed. These were Sealy Posturepedic with a 3" cooling gel pillow-top. This is one area that we thought we shouldn't "cheap out" on and I believe we also made a good decision here. We were told that you shouldn't get more than a 10" mattress, but I believe we were misinformed about that. We ended up getting a 14" mattress and it moves just fine.Bottom line, if you are interested in an electric adjustable bed, you really won't go wrong by purchasing this product (in whatever size that suits you). We're extremely satisfied overall.

great product,although i'm spending about $40 a month on aaa batteries. should use aa or 9v. even tried energizer lithium advanced, not cheap. should have a feature to disable backlight, or employ a usb charger.

Great foundation. My wife has back issues, and the adjustability has really helped her find a comfort zone. She is able to sleep through the night, and we are all much happier.
